HVAC/Oil Burner Service Technician, Newton, MA

Job Summary:

Devaney Energy is seeking an experienced, full-time HVAC/Oil Burner Service Technician to work out of our Newton, MA office. The ideal candidate must have strong technical ability, problem-solving skills, positive attitude along with all the proper state licensing requirements. We are a family-owned and operated energy company with over 85 years of delivering the highest level of service to our oil, propane and air conditioning customers. Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Perform thorough annual preventative maintenance on customers’ heating equipment ensuring it runs on peak efficiency
  • Identify and repair problems with heating and air conditioning equipment
  • Respond to routine and emergency service calls
  • Create exceptional experience for all customers
  • Understanding of propane and natural gas systems is a plus
  • Communicate on a regular basis with the Service Dispatch team
  • Ability to work with our computer tablet systems
  • Ability to work independently

Propane Service Technician & Installer

Job Summary:

Devaney Energy is seeking an experienced Propane Service and Installation technician. We are a family-owned and operated energy company with over 85 years of delivering the highest level of service to our oil, propane and air conditioning customers. The ideal candidate provides customer service and satisfaction by efficiently maintaining and repairing all Propane and Oil appliances sold by the company to residential, commercial and industrial customers in a manner that supports the company’s commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all aspects of propane systems and appliances in a safe, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Install propane gas tanks and perform/document gas checks
  • Interact with customers and co-workers respectfully and in a manner that supports the company’s commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure all company policies, procedures, handbooks, manuals and state/local and federal codes are adhered to in connection with all troubleshooting, repairs, services and installations
  • Perform all functions of the job in every weather condition, day and night, participate in “on-call” rotation and be available to work on Saturdays as needed
  • Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspection and operate company vehicle in a safe manner, in compliance with state/federal motor vehicle laws
  • Be receptive to and competently use new technology
  • Complete paperwork in neat, timely, and accurate manner
  • Consistent compliance with company, state, and federal safety regulations
  • Present a neat and clean appearance, including maintaining cleanliness of uniform and vehicle

Minimum Requirements:

  • Hold valid MA or RI state LP license or Gas Fitter’s license to perform daily propane service and installations
  • A valid operator driving license and clean driving record
  • A Commercial Drivers’ License is preferred but not required.
  • 1-3-years of relevant industry experience in propane
  • The ability to manually lift heavy objects (up to 75lbs).
  • Highly organized and flexible
  • Problem solving /troubleshooting skills
  • HVAC experience a plus
  • Must be reliable, enthusiastic, committed, and accountable.

Propane Delivery Driver

Devaney Energy is seeking a Warehouse Associate to work in of our busy Newton, MA office. We are a family-owned and operated energy company delivering heating oil and propane throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We operate a large service department performing heating and cooling sales and service. Our warehouse is always busy and active. We are seeking an organized, motivated person to manage the warehouse activity. Experience in the heating/cooling/plumbing industry is necessary. Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Receive all incoming parts, supplies, and packages into the warehouse and put them away accordingly
  • Manage distribution of outgoing parts and supplies to technicians
  • Ensure high levels of cleanliness and organization throughout the warehouse
  • Maintain inventory and confirm counts are recorded accurately
  • Work closely with our service team and technicians to maintain accurate inventory on company vehicles
  • Control stock in and out of our parts area
  • Occasionally run stock to job sites or pick up at supply houses
  • Other duties in and around our facility as needed
