Job Summary:

Newton-based Devaney Energy is seeking a full-time, seasonal, heating oil delivery driver. The successful candidate must be hardworking, reliable, and a team player with a good driving record. We are a family-owned and operated energy company for over 85 years and delivering the highest level of service to our customers is at the center of our core values. Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Safely deliver heating oil to our customers
  • Valid commercial driver’s license
  • Hazmat and Tanker endorsements 
  • Good driving record
  • Valid DOT physical exam & medical card
  • Pass random drug & alcohol testing

Previous experience is a plus. 

Credit & Collections Representative

Job Summary:

Newton-based Devaney Energy is seeking a full-time Credit & Collections Representative. The ideal candidate is a positive, customer-centric, goal-oriented team member that also possesses excellent communication, listening, and negotiation skills. We are a family-owned and operated energy company with more than 85 years of delivering the highest level of service to our customers. Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Monitor customer accounts for collection efforts
  • Make outbound calls to customers on past due accounts
  • Negotiate successful payment arrangements
  • Provide timely follow-up
  • Field inbound credit and collection calls
  • Post payments to customers’ accounts
  • Work with sales team on new customer applications and issues

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior collection and billing experience
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Superior communication skills; must be a good listener who can quickly establish rapport; must speak clearly, convey empathy; be knowledgeable and provide a warm personality that shows over the phone
  • Must have the ability to multitask
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized
  • Possess a positive, can-do attitude; must be team player

Propane Sales Representative

Job Summary:

Devaney Energy is seeking an experienced, talented and motivated sales professional to join our team as an outside Propane Sales Representative. The successful candidate must have excellent sales, customer service, communication, organization and time-management skills. We are a family-owned and operated energy company with over 85 years of delivering the highest level of service to our propane and fuel oil customers. Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Develop and pursue propane leads for both new customers and existing residential customers within our marketing area.
  • Negotiate and close new propane deals.
  • Work closely with sales administration, installation and delivery to ensure a smooth customer transition.
  • Follow-up with new customers to ensure satisfaction.

Required Skills & Personal Attributes:

  • Must have proven prior sales experience.
  • Experience with propane is required.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized.
  • Possess a positive, can-do attitude; must be a team player.
  • Knowledge in Excel, Outlook, Word and CRM is helpful
